We were asked by our client, a forward looking young professional, to re-order his dilapidated mews property which, at the time of purchase, comprised a first floor flat over two garages.

Careful reorganisation of the limited space within the existing envelope, (which involved a complete strip out – retaining only the existing roof structure); the introduction of additional roof lights, new French doors and enlarged windows, (following lengthy negotiations with the local Authority and freeholder); the installation of up-to-date services; and the use of contemporary finishes, all within a limited budget, transform the original dark, compartmentalised space into a bright, light suffused contemporary house. An open plan living room, (with a bespoke fireplace), and kitchen are located on the ground floor, with two large bedrooms and a modern bathroom on the first floor.
