Our client chose the theme of ‘box beds’ to display their exclusive range of hand made fabrics, cushions, bags and slippers.
The beds were to be based on authentic examples but with a theatrical twist, appropriate to the occasion! The examples chosen ranged from an early carved room from Norway, a Parisian bedchamber circa 1710, and a humble ‘double-decker’ from Brittany through to a 19th century Swedish version by Carl Larsen and the stand was arranged as a series of stage settings.
The whole stand had to be fabricated and painted off site at the clients’ warehouse, with only a few hours allowed for its reassembly in the exhibition tent. It was a commission that demanded ingenuity as well as imagination!
The stand took the first prize at the exhibition and attracted a great deal of interest from visitors.
